The Colorado Trail Race features 500 miles and 70,000′ of elevation gain traversing through the Colorado Rocky Mountains between Durango and Denver. Approximately 300+ miles of the route are on singletrack at elevations up to 13,200′. The weather can be fine allowing you to enjoy the sunny blue skies and blooming wildflowers of Colorado but also be prepared for a sudden change with hailstones and lightning bolts.
